I’ve been working on a Dana 60 front and rear axle swap on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) for a while now… mostly off camera, because honestly, there’s been a lot of trial and error and I wasn’t sure anyone would want to watch me figure it out. But here we are.
In this video I’m walking you through what I’ve done so far on the front end, the suspension setup, and the 3-link and 4-link kit I went with from Barnes 4WD. We’ll talk about lockers, a brand new Ox up front and a used Detroit out back to try and save some cash. And I get real about what this project has cost so far. Spoiler: if you’re planning your own Dana 60 swap, estimate high!
None of this is sponsored, just a guy in a garage buying parts and figuring it out. Builder brackets came from a mix of Off-Road Anonymous, TMR Customs, and Barnes 4WD depending on who had what I needed. The Dana 60 truss is Barnes as well.
