It’s no secret, I’m a self-taught welder. Some of you have pointed out my errors in my video comments, and while some of you can be pretty harsh, message received. I need to improve my skills if I”m going to be building things on my Rig that could get someone hurt. So today, I’m experimenting with some of the principles that make a strong weld. Power, wire speed, penetration, and how welds look at the end. I think I’ve nailed it down, and it feels like 3/16″ steel plate might be the upper limit of my welder! I’m going to need to go thicker for a small part of the JK bumper build, so that means I’m going to need to figure that out.

I hope my trial and error here helps you guys learn something about how to improve your welds. Thanks for watching!
